The Al Qasr Mall is located in the south of downtown Riyadh, just off King Fahd road. It was inaugurated in 2013 and soon became a major lifestyle and shopping destination in the capital. It was awarded for “The Best Commercial Project” in 2013 for its strategic location in Riyadh as well as for the exterior design of the Mall, which was the largest advertising interface. 

One of the stand-out features of the mall is its massive media facade, covering 3 out of four sides of 4 story building. The Al Qasr Mall Media facade is comprised of 2350 PixelDOME luminaires, each spaced 1m apart from each other and 140 Power-Data control units, both designed and manufactured by GVA Lighting. 

The unique dome feature of the Luminaires allows them to be seen clearly from a very wide viewing angle greater than 180 -which ensures visibility is not lost at obscure viewing angles, even when mounted flush with a surface. This is especially important for the Al Qasr Mall installation, where the main wall of the media facade has a convex curve which would render a flat lensed luminaire invisible at all but the most direct viewing angles.
